A group of students from the University of Missouri - Saint Louis came out on Saturday, April 23 to help mow, trim, and uncover headstones at Historic Greenwood Cemetery. These fraternity brothers and sorority sisters worked hard and contributed to a very productive day. All front burial sections were mowed, sections A and B were completely mowed and trimmed, and several planter box style headstones were cleared of dirt and overgrowth in section D. Thank you UMSL students for giving back to your community!!

I think it is very important to keep the cemetery clean and tidy. I really respect the volunteers who agree to take on this kind of work. very often there are many abandoned graves in old cemeteries, since the relatives of the deceased have moved somewhere or simply died. It's good when there are those who look after the abandoned graves.
